Staff 2025

You cannot run an effective camp, running or otherwise, without good counselors. At Stowe Running Camp, we have been fortunate to have some amazing people as part of our staff. The people listed below are both great runners and excellent humans who care deeply about spreading their passion for the sport of running to the younger generation. Almost all of our camp counselors were former Stowe Running Campers themselves, so they know what the camp can mean to an aspiring runner.

Jeff Moretti
Coach Moretti has been a counselor at Stowe Running Camp since 2018. A UNH graduate, he works as a school counselor in Exeter NH where he also coaches the highly successful track and XC teams. In 2025, Jeff helped lead the Blue Hawks to one of the most successful years in school history, with the team capturing the Division I Championship in XC and their girls 4×8 gaining All-American status.

Rachel Sessa
Rachel is a 2022 graduate of Georgetown University, where she was a member of their very successful track and XC teams. Rachel was also a part of the track/XC teams at Northwestern University. As a HS student-athlete, she won the 2016 Massachusetts State Championship in the mile as a sophomore and holds the Mass state record for most points scored in the All-State Meet. She was a camper at Stowe Running Camp from 2015-2018 and has been a counselor since 2019. 

Sierra Fisher
In 2025, Sierra Fisher is entering her senior year at Marist University in Poughkeepsie, NY. At Marist, Sierra has been a dynamic team leader for the Red Foxes.  She has PRs of 2:16 in the 800, 5:11 in the mile and 2:52 in the 1k. Sierra was a camper at Stowe Running Camp from 2016-2021 and has been a counselor since 2019. In 2025, she wrote this article about finding joy in running that is well worth the read!

Makayla Paige
Makayla Paige is entering her final year of competition at UNC-Chapel Hill and has rewritten the record books for the Tar Heels. In 2025, Makayla won the Division I Indoor National Championship in the 800, while setting the UNC school record. In the spring, she finished as runner-up at nationals, while running her life-time best 0f 1:58, which is the fifth fastest time ever run at the collegiate level. Makayla was a Stowe Running camper from 2017-2021 and was a first year counselor in 2025. 

Kate Swann
Kate Swann is entering her senior season at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. After a solid first two years at Williams, Kate’s junior year of cross country proved to be a breakout season, as Kate earned All-American status while leading the Ephs to a 3rd place finish at the Division III national meet. Kate was a camper at Stowe from 2018-2021 and has been a counselor since 2022. 

Tyler Sheedy
Tyler Sheedy is a 2022 graduate of Dover High School (NH) and a current student at the University of Rhode Island. As a high school athlete, Tyler holds virtually every school record from the 1k through the 5k. At URI, Tyler ran PRs of 14:56 in the 5k and 4:20 in the mile. He was also 12th at the 2024 US Mountain Running Championships. In addition to his running and mountain climbing accomplishments, Tyler works as a broadcaster for New Hampshire Track and Field. 

Brian Axelrod
Brian Axelrod is a 2011 graduate of Lesley University, where he was a member of the cross country and track and field teams. Brian has competed in over 28 marathons, including running the Boston Marathon nine times. He works as a physical education teacher in the Boston area and has also coached the Somerville Middle School track teams. Brian has been a counselor since 2010. 

Eli Moskowitz
Eli Moskowitz is a 2019 graduate of North Carolina State University, where he was a four year member of the track and cross country teams. While at NC State, Eli ran PRs of 29:23 in the 10k, 14:02 in the 5k, and 4:09 in the mile. As a HS athlete, Eli set the state record for the 2 mile in New Hampshire of 8:44. He currently competes for the Battle Road Track Club. 

Vera De Jong
Vera De Jong is a 2025 graduate of Mount Greylock HS in MA, where she helped lead her team to three straight Massachusetts outdoor track state championships. Vera was a team captain who finished her HS career with PRs of 12:34 in the 2 mile and 5:52 in the mile. She is also the school record holder in the 2k Steeplechase.Vera is attending UVM in the fall of 2025. Vera has been a camper since 2021 and 2025 was her first year as a counselor.
